| Rangeley Star |
Thursday |
SM/ALL |
|
A
spectacular scrap quilt designed to feature three different
sizes of one of Deb's Signature Star blocks using her Tucker/
Trimmer tool. This project-specific class will have students
turning out challenging looking stars with no more effort
than that used to construct a simple nine patch. Using Deb's
techniques and her Tucker/Trimmer tool, students will be able
to assemble 5", 8 1/2" and 12" Signature Star
blocks quickly and accurately into 17" central block
units. Different arrangements of these units will give each
student's project a unique design. Various border options
will be demonstrated and discussed during class time. Best
suited to those with sound rotary cutting and machine piecing
skills (not recommended as a first project). Purchase of the
Tucker Trimmer tool required $11.

| Carolina Lily |
Friday |
SM/INT |
|
This
class will take you through a variety of skill building techniques
as you work on constructing a traditional-looking Carolina
Lily. If you have shied away from this pattern because of
the "Y" seam, Deb's altered pattern and construction
technique will enable you to achieve the traditional look
without all the stress. A "Fast Flying Geese" technique
will be used to construct the blocks and a "Migrating
Geese" technique will be used to construct the borders.
Additionally, Deb will cover the use of bias bars for the
lily stems and several types of appliqué for the optional
leaves. A real charmer of a class and quilt. Best suited to
those with sound rotary cutting and machine piecing skills.

| Rapid Fire
Hunter's Star: River Hunter Quilt |
Saturday and Sunday |
SM/ALL |
A
project-specific class that will teach students how to construct
blocks using Deb's patented Rapid Fire Hunter's Star technique
and ruler. The quilt was titled River Hunter's Star because
of the fish fabric used to make the quilt for Deb's husband,
who does not hunt but is an avid fisherman. It measures approximately
64" x 80" when finished. Students will master the
streamlined piecing process as they construct and assemble the
blocks into a balanced, attractive design layout. Each student
can expect to get approximately half of the blocks completed.
Fun, fast and striking. Suitable to those with solid rotary
cutting and machine piecing skills (not recommended as a first
project). Purchase of the Rapid Fire Hunter's Star ruler is
required: $21 for smaller 6" block; $23 for larger 8"
block. |
